  1. Won't be able to do moonshine on my boat unfortunately, but have experimented with beer brewing. Seems it's just too hot sometimes. Great video! Have fun and be safe!

    1. Hey Aaron- I know what you mean. We had problems with beer as well. It seems like it's more sensitive to temperature than pure mash for liquor, especially with hot temps during the day. Thanks for watching and commenting! Brian

  4. hey guys, try this one out, get 2 lots at 80%acl. then redistill it, when it comes out at 80 - 85% cut it down to 40% with the water and then filter it, it'll come out at about 37% and tastes heaps better, it's just abit more effort but worth it. Also remember that the slower it filters the better also, should be around 1drop per 6sec, which and overnight job at least. I do 8lts at a time and it takes 4days to filter. Good luck enjoy and keep up the good work..

    1. Hey Alan- thanks for the comments and tips. We've heard about double distilling to improve quality but since we have to run our generator for every batch haven't tried it yet. Maybe someday if we can ever plug into shore power. Awesome that you're doing your own brewing. Love to hear it!

  6. Great video. Since we live ashore at the moment, conditions for brewing & distilling don't change that much, so we don't measure and check so precisely, as each batch is usually the same. Also we don't bother with the sterilising at the beginning, just rinse out the container when it was last used, and make sure it is dry before putting it away. What about the mixers? We have adapted a Soda Stream to take large bottles of gas, so that we didn't have to lug all the bottles of drink. We'll definitely be taking the still, Soda Stream & brewing kit when we go cruising. Thanks for some good ideas in your video.
